What I stand for

Iosco County, and Oscoda in particular, is an incredible place to raise a family. We have an abundance of nature and rural towns that provide a beautiful, close knit, and safe community for all of our citizens. However, we also have very real problems that need to be solved. These problems include:

economic issues causing our young adults to leave
health issues resulting from an aging population with lack of health care options
pollution in our waters impacting drinking and recreation.

These problems are solvable, but will require hard work by people who are capable and willing to fully understand the complexity of these issues and have the vision to execute on solutions. Drawing on my MS degrees in both Engineering and Data Science, I believe I am the correct person to go to work for all the citizens in our county to bring Iosco County and Oscoda into a thriving rural future.

About Me.

First and foremost, I am a husband and a father of 2 incredible children. My amazing wife, Natasha, and I moved our family to Oscoda in the Spring of 2022 looking for a rural community to raise our family. We fell in love with the small town, community centric, feeling of Oscoda. We love the outdoors, from hiking and paddleboarding, playing soccer, and just lazy hammock days while listening to the birds.

I believe strongly in actively participating in the community we live in. After all, the strength of a community is the summation of it's resident's contributions. Throughout my life I have taken an active role in tutoring students in mathematics, organizing and running youth robotics teams, and coaching young soccer players. Since joining this community we have been involved with the organization of the Oscoda AYSO soccer program -- If you want to meet me, I am out on the fields all spring and fall refereeing soccer, feel free to come up and say hi!

During down time, you can find our family playing outside or inside playing board games. I am an avid Settlers of Catan and Dominion player and always down to learn a new game. I love to build things whether its creating a marble run with my 3d printer, turning our yard into an orchard with Natasha, or spaceships out of Legos with my kids.

For my career, I currently lead a global data science organization focusing on predictive analytics to make vehicles safer and greener. I have a BS and MS in mechanical engineering from Michigan Technological University and a MS in applied data science from the University of Michigan. I am ready, excited, and well equipped to bring my technical, problem solving, and leadership skills to improving the trajectory of Iosco county and Oscoda.
